The Agriculture and Livestock Department was established in Sharjah on March 21, 2022, by Emiri Decree No. 10 of 2022 issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah. His Highness also issued Law No. (4) of 2022 regarding the regulation of the department’s work. The department is responsible for setting public policies and strategic plans related to agriculture and livestock in the Emirate, developing irrigation water use methods, and promoting sustainable consumption in coordination with relevant entities. It also partners with the public and private sectors to invest in agricultural and livestock production, contributing to legislative compliance and supervising farms and facilities related to the department’s activities.
